How to wash period pants

How to keep your period underwear fresh, comfy, and long-lasting.

  • 01 - Rinse

A quick rinse in cold water after wearing helps keep them fresh and washes most of the fluid out straight away. Not a must-do, but it makes a BIG difference.

  • 02 - Wash

Hand wash or pop them in the machine on a cool cycle (30–40°). Just skip the fabric softener — it stops the layers from working their magic.

  • 03 - Dry

Air dry only. Heat from tumble dryers can damage the leak-proof layers, so letting them dry naturally keeps them in top shape for longer.

  • 04 - Wear again

Once clean and dry, they’re ready to go for your next cycle. Simple, stress-free, and built to last.

What people frequently ask us

Can I throw them in with the rest of my laundry?

Yep! You don’t need to baby them. Just wash at 30–40° with your usual clothes (dark wash is perfect). Only thing to avoid is fabric softener as it messes with the absorbent powers and affects the longevity

Do I need a laundry bag?

A laundry bag isn’t essential, but we do recommend it.

Using a laundry bag helps protect the delicate absorbent layers from friction in the wash, which means your underwear will keep its shape, last longer, and stay performing at its best.

Think of it as a little extra care that pays off in comfort, hygiene, and longevity.

Tumble dry or no?

No tumble dryers queen!

Heat can damage the leak-proof technology inside. Letting them air dry naturally keeps them protective for much longer. Plus, it’s planet-friendly and saves energy.

Will they smell?

Not if you care for them properly. MYRAs are made with breathable, odour-resistant fabrics, so once they’re rinsed, washed, and dried fully, they’ll stay fresh.

No more worrying about that “not so fresh” pad smell.

How long will they last?

With the right care, your MYRAs can last 2–3 years. That’s dozens of cycles where you won’t need to keep buying pads or tampons. So you save money and cut down on waste.

How do all those layers actually get clean?

Each layer is designed to wash through fully, so nothing gets trapped inside.

The top layer rinses away easily, the absorbent core releases fluid in the wash, and the leak-proof shield is thin enough to stay breathable while still protecting you.

A quick rinse plus a wash is all it takes to reset them fresh for next time.
